After moving to BC a few months back, I've started going to Surrey Place Dental. On Thursday I had my first cleaning procedure done at this clinic by Charn and was very pleased with this hygienist. When going in for cleaning, I'm always concerned about a dentist/hygienist applying excessive force and not being careful when scraping my teeth, especially below the gum level. Charn was gentle and firm enough at the same time - I could tell he was doing the job but not impacting my teeth and gums beyond the necessary... Mine wasn't an easy job either, as I was way past due for cleaning. Yet, Charn was very patient with me. When I used an irrigator later that day for my nightly flush, my gums were very sensitive - as they normally would be after a cleaning procedure. However, to my delight, they went back to normal by the following night... which means that they were not disturbed beyond what was necessary during cleaning. In short, I feel that between Charn and Dr. Islur (whom I see for all main dental procedures at Surrey Place Dental) I'm in good hands!
I've been seeing Dr. Islur since high school and have been going regularly twice a year ever since. That alone says a lot! He's truly excellent at what he does—skilled, professional, and consistently thorough. What really stands out is how personal he makes each visit feel. He takes the time to connect and genuinely cares about his patients, which makes every appointment comfortable and stress-free. Highly recommend!

Dr. Greg graduated from UBC Dental School in 1986. He has practiced most of his career in Surrey and enjoys practicing all aspects of family dentistry. He has a keen interest in Sports Dentistry, as he has been the team dentist for the BC Lions Football Club for over 20 years, and is a member of the Academy for Sports Dentistry, which regularly meets with team dentists from the NFL, NHL, NBA, MLB and other professional and amateur sports leagues.

My experience at surrey place dental group has always been amazing. I've been going here since I was a child. I had Dr Lauren Chang for 3 cavity fillings this past month and she has been absolutely amazing. I had some sensitivity in the weeks following and she addressed these with care and her time. She thoroughly listened to me and answered every question I had to the best of her ability and I have nothing but good things to say about her and the dental hygienist that treated me. The front desk staff were kind and helpful offering their advice. Definitely recommend.

I had multiple appointments with Dr. Lauren Chang, and she is fantastic—highly professional and attentive. However, my experience with the clinic itself was disappointing. Over a span of two months, they failed to get an estimate from my insurance for dental bridge. I had to tell them multiple times that the insurance company hadn’t received the required documents from them. This lack of organization and communication made the process unnecessarily frustrating.
