I wanted to take a moment to share how grateful I am for Dr.Shephard. I have been having sessions for a couple of months now. I thank God for him and his whole team, they are a blessing in my life. I went in for a frozen shoulder, but I’ve received some relief with hip and neck pain as well, and the ultrasound Dr.Shephard ordered helped me to uncover that I have tendonitis in my elbow. Dr.Shepherd and his staff are very caring, competent and having a genuine desire to help people. From the first time I stepped foot through the door I felt welcome and at home, and a sense of belonging and acceptance. I really appreciate Dr.Shephard’s kindness and expertise. He assured me right away that I can ask him questions anytime. The issues I have are dealt with in the moment, addressed immediately, and whatever tests are needed, he gets them done asap. He is proficient, caring and capable. He is very compassionate, and after 9 months of suffering, I am finally feeling some progress in my shoulder. I am hopeful and optimistic that I can have a full recovery and am so very grateful for the help and treatment I receive. I highly recommend you see him if you’re experiencing challenges.

There's a ton of choices in this area of expertise. People come here to get better. 2nd time through as first injury was shoulder few years ago. Now it's my foot. I check any fear of chronic lingering injuries as Dr. J will fix what ails you. Side note, this is my opinion but when you get a load of the pictures all throughout the office personally signed saying in general "Thanks for fixing me". I have seen pictures of Olympic athletes, CFL players, opera singers, rock singers boxers....get the point. This is where I go to heal. P.S. all the staff make this work. From front desk to the assistants it all comes together.
My husband and I started going to see Dr. Shephard in early March for degenerative disc disease in our necks. He has been treating us with active release therapy, shock treatments, decompression and Lazer therapy. He's very personable, attentive and knowledgeable. I highly recommend Dr.Shephard for chiropractor treatments.

Shephard Health Centre opened over 20 years ago by Dr. Jay Shephard with the goal of providing chiropractic services to patients in NW Calgary so that they can live, work and play – pain free!
We have been at the forefront of all of the latest advanced techniques in chiropractic and wellness care such as Active Release Techniques (ART®), Shockwave Therapy and now Laser Therapy. Dr. Jay Shephard has been an active instructor of ART® (Active Release Techniques) since 1998. He is also one of the first practitioners of the Graston Technique in Calgary.
Shephard Health Centre has been providing Calgary’s best manual sports therapy along with corrective exercise rehabilitation. We have over 20 years of experience in assessing and treating injuries as well as bio-mechanical dysfunction.
We are conveniently located in Kensington, right on Kensington Road NW across from Original Joe’s Restaurant. We are easily accessible by transit buses and just a short 10 minute walk from the Sunnyside LRT station.

Dr. Jayson Shephard, DC
Dr. Jay Shephard was born and raised in Calgary and graduated from Palmer College of Chiropractic West in 1992. As well as introducing Active Release Techniques to Western Canada, Dr. Shephard holds advanced certification in Active Release Techniques (ART) and has been an active instructor of ART since 1998. He was also one of the first practitioners to bring the Graston Technique to Calgary.
Dr. Jay (as he is often called by his patients) has been providing manual and sports therapy along with corrective exercise rehabilitation to all that seek him out. Dr. Shephard has over 20 years experience in the assessment of injury and biomechanical dysfunction. As well as treating weekend warriors and everyday folks like you and I, Dr. Jay Shephard has had the pleasure of treating Olympic athletes and professional athletes from the NHL, CFL, NFL, MLB, and PGA Tour, as well as movie actors and touring recording artists.
