Good initial experience with this office. Came in for my child, at my dentist’s recommendation.
Everyone in the care team was professional, pleasant and accommodating, from the admin staff scheduling/rescheduling appointments and handling payment, and even meeting us downstairs when we couldn’t find the office right away, to the scans & x-rays equipment and procedures. Amit, Amrit and Dr. Kanani were all friendly, and gentle with my child, and the patience of all staff with providing information and clarification.
Dr. Kanani even took a quick look (unscheduled!) for estimating my own treatment, which gives me a chance to prepare in advance.
My child was also excited about the flashlight pen received, and loved the fish tank in the front office.
Their Apple Pay limit is at $500, so if you prefer paying off the entire amount by credit, in office, you have to bring your actual card.

Oct 2025 update: all subsequent appointments went smoothly, staff has always been polite, helpful, and professional - front and back office, and all the techs have been really patient with my anxious kid.
We had a last minute visit recently after my kid lost a tooth and needed a wire adjustment. I called in the morning and was told they could only accommodate a same day appt at a time that didn’t work for us, on the last day before an extended stat closure, and with a staff off sick.
When I explained my reasons, they didn’t want to leave my kid dealing with discomfort and accommodated a visit at the end of the day. Very grateful for this clinic!
May 2026 update: More than one year later, still having positive experiences with this clinic. We’ve seen several different staff a few times (all gentle and professional), and recently seen Klarice more often than others - she’s been so patient, friendly and accommodating to my child’s nervousness and both of our questions. After making the transition to a retainer she offered a selection of treats to my kid, too, leading to extra smiles!
They have also renovated the clinic, and in addition to new furniture and a couple of video game consoles with a good selection of games, (fish tank is still a favourite) they implemented this new points system where kids can use their accumulated points to pick prizes. My kid had fun choosing a gift, and was excited about the new retainer and work on the lisp!
Same great experience with the front office, booking and rescheduling appts, obtaining information, etc. happy to give them our business.

Dr. Aly Kanani, DMD
Dr. Kanani was born and raised in Vancouver. He has a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc) degree in Physiology from McGill University and received a Masters of Science (M.Sc) from the London School of Economics in England. He received his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree (D.M.D.) and also completed his Masters in Education degree (MS.Ed) at the University of Pennsylvania.
He graduated from the University of Detroit Mercy with a Masters of Science degree in Orthodontics (MS.Ortho) and a Specialty Certification in Orthodontics (Cert.Ortho).
Dr. Kanani also previously taught clinical orthodontics to third and fourth year dental students at the University of British Columbia (U.B.C.) Faculty of Dentistry.
Dr. Kanani served the Surrey communities of Guildford, Fleetwood, Fraser Heights, and Cloverdale as an orthodontist for children and adults from 2005 to 2021. In 2021, Guildford Orthodontics was rebranded to My ORTHODONTIST Surrey.
Since 2006, he has treated many thousands of children, teens, and adults, including greater than 5000 Invisalign patients throughout the Surrey areas. He was recognized by the CEO of Align Technology, the parent company of Invisalign, for this milestone distinction.
Dr. Kanani is excited to return to Surrey to bring beautiful and confident smiles to the community once again.
