Overview

Welcome to Living Wellness Dental Dorchester! Our team of professionals, including Drs. Kindal Robertson, David MacLean, and Cameron MacLean are dedicated to providing exceptional dentistry with a focus on overall health, rather than the traditional disease-oriented, reactive model. This proactive model is founded on the understanding that there is a strong connection between the mouth and whole person health, realized by intelligent intent, not by accident. The model prides itself on empowering clients to make well-informed decisions about their health, based upon their own value systems. This has led our practice into the realm of holistic health with a view to a “biologic” approach to dentistry. Our time-tested craft enables us to deal with the challenges of bio-compatible dental restorations by applying the principles of nature’s design. A visit to our clinic will enable you to obtain quality, comprehensive solutions for a wide range of dental problems.

Kindal Robertson

Dentist

We are in a time when patients are welcomed advocates for their own care. Dr. Kindal Robertson is a dentist who believes in patient education as a complement to compassionate, personalized care. He treats patients like he does his own siblings, providing holistic care to promote health for the whole body, not just the teeth and gums. Dr. Robertson finds immense peace in doing what is best in each situation.

Dr. Robertson believes “A proactive approach to wellness may not be any harder than changing one element of our lifestyle such as caring for oral health and supporting health before the symptoms compound.”

Dr. Kindal Robertson grew up as the middle child out of seven children right here in Calgary. He received both a Bachelor’s and a Master’s of Science in Biochemistry from the University of Calgary, and graduated from the University of Alberta with his doctorate in dentistry in 2008. To this day, Dr. Robertson has continued his own learning process, completing training programs on an ongoing basis. He has a special interest in understanding the relationship between oral health, dental care, and general health. These interests have lead him to be a member of the IAOMT and to be SMART certified. He currently sits as the Chair of the Science Committee of the IAOMT.

Dr. Robertson and his wife Treena have eight young children. The family maintains an active lifestyle that includes soccer, basketball, biking, dance, skiing, piano, and various other activities that the children love. You may have once found Kindal in a kayak or in the Backcountry in a tent in solitude, but now you are more likely to see him crammed into a bulging tent surrounded by his children.

This is the best experience I have had in a dental office from the doctors, to the dental hygienists and the lovely ladies at the front desk. They are thorough, friendly and know what they’re doing. I can honestly say that I actually look forward to going to the dentist!

First of all, we started going there in 2022, everything was great. The staff was amazing. When our insurance needed answers in order to reimburse some or all of the cost of the treatments, the front desk was very easy to deal with and would email us updates. Fast forward to now, my husband had an accident and went for a consultation last week. The dentist who looked at his tooth recommended a procedure which the insurance needed more information about in order to assess how much we are covered for. The front desk person rushed my husband to get an appointment this week but never answered the inquiry from the insurance company, forcing them to deny the claim. My husband only found out it was denied the night before the appointment day. Because of that, we had to cancel the appointment on the day itself because obviously no one was answering calls beyond office hours. We were told we can get charged a penalty. Well, if we had gone ahead with that appointment, we have no assurance they will help us get more information to the insurance company to be reimbursed for the fees so why would we go ahead with the treatment not knowing how much it will cost us? We repeatedly asked to speak with the manager or Dr. Robertson but we're repeatedly told they were busy, or they will be informed about it so they can call us back, but NO ONE called us back. We are now canceling all future appointments and leaving this clinic. It's sad because Dr. Robertson himself is an amazing dentist and very nice guy. We really wanted to inform him but had no way to contact him due to the horrible gatekeeper he has at the front desk. She even had the gall to tell us that contacting insurance companies is just a courtesy they do to clients. Well, if that's the case, be prepared to pay for everything without relying on insurance if anyone comes to this clinic.

Best care I ever had!!! Excellent service, wonderful team, compassionate, hear our concerns, explain everything carefully, give you options to make a decision. I’m thankful to Bruna, part of assisting team who introduced me to this blessed team and took great care of me! Even more grateful to the care I had from Dr. Bullen and Dr. O, Jho and Jade! I’m the biggest fan of Dr. Ogunji ( Dr. O), the amount of work and study he puts in every single time is a gift and he makes a difference through the care he provides!! I have TMJ disfunction, grinding, among other issues. He has been rebuilding my biomechanics and my smile! I can only say how proud and grateful I am for having all of them taking care of me!

I saw Dr Robertson on September 17th 2024. I went there for "bone remineralization surgery" which is more important then it sounds. I think he is an excellent dentist and Patti a senior member of his staff was also absolutely amazing in helping me understand what I needed to know and prepare me for my visit to Calgary to get this dental work done. Dr. Robertson is very knowledgeable, upfront and honest. He could have done an unnecessary sinus lift and charged me $900 more but didn't. He goes to a lot of IAOMT meetings to continue his learning. He doesn't seem like one of those arrogant know it all doctors. (December 16th)This was a 5 star review but I had to downgrade it because I'm disappointed he made a mistake on one of my bone remineralization sites giving me a sinus infection. Sure everyone makes mistakes, it was a difficult area with the sinus hanging low but I do feel like he should have offered a refund for the work on that one spot and take full responsibility for the mistake. I didn't want to haggle with him or get into a fit instead I'll give a truthful review. I paid around a grand to have to go through pain, take antibiotics, and now I'll have to pay a few more grand to fly out of Canada to see a ENT and fix this sinus infection. Also I did pay another 8 or 900 bucks to fly back here from Vancouver hotel for 2 days another scan and consultation to hear the bad news. I still don't have the heart to give a 1 or 0 star review because he is a good guy and a speciality dentist that we need more of not less but I feel like he should have taken responsibility and given a refund because I work 13 hour days to save money to do this only to have a set back.
