I had a procedure done in January 2025 that went great — but what wasn’t so great was being overcharged by nearly $190.
I caught the error after reviewing my EOB statement and called the office on a Monday to discuss it. They said they would look into it and call me back by Friday the same week. That call never came.
A couple of weeks later, I decided to visit the office in person (again on a Monday) to get a direct answer. The front desk staff admitted they overcharged me and confirmed I was owed a credit of ~$190. They said the only way to issue the refund was via check in the mail. I offered to pick it up in person to make it easier for them, and they agreed. They told me I would receive a text the next day (Tuesday) confirming the pickup date.
Tuesday came... no text. I called the office a couple of hours before closing, and they told me the person who assisted me was “busy” and they would call me back, and you can guess if they did or not.
It’s incredibly frustrating to have to chase them down to return money they overcharged. It’s unprofessional that I had to confront them in person for them to even acknowledge it. Makes me wonder how many other patients are being overcharged and not noticing.
