Dr David Hou is simply superb. He explains everything in great detail, patiently outlining the potential outcomes of present dental situations. I truly appreciate all the time and concern he always shows, going above and beyond for me. The dental hygienist Julianna was also very nice, gentle, and thorough.
Dr. Hou and his team have been our families dentist for many years. The service you receive from the moment you book until your appointment is finished is second to none in the city. From my elderly father needing extensive work to yearly checkups for the entire family we couldn't be happier with Dr.Hou and his team.

The clinic is bright, clean, well disinfected in every conner (include the wash room). And there is soft, tender and relaxing background music around. The overall atmosphere provides the patient with efficient, safe, calm, reliable, relaxing and peaceful feeling.
Two front desk recipients manage the payment and appointment procedure so efficiently with computers and internet connections. They also politely provide customer clear and detail explanation about the receipts and available schedule arrangement.

Dr David Hou was born and raised in Vancouver BC. He went to elementary and high school in the Dunbar area. He finished his undergraduate degree with honours at the University of California, and stayed in California for his dental training. He graduated from Loma Linda University School of Dentistry in 2006 and has since been practicing in the lower mainland for the past 18 years. Dr Hou is a part-time faculty member at UBC Dental School and has been teaching and mentoring students since 2010. He’s won the UBC part-time teaching award for excellent dental instructors in the field in 2014 and also 2017.

I cannot express how happy I am with Dr. Hou. and Dunbar Family Dental. My family has been coming here pretty much since they opened. He is great with children (my original primary concern) and also with adults. My girls love going to the dentist! (🤦♂️) Anytime they have a wiggly tooth, and it’s not coming out as fast as they want - or a cold spot - or they bite their lip! They want to go to the dentist. I have never felt “upsold” - or with any lingering questions requiring follow-up - or left unsatisfied. I don’t write many reviews at all (My passive fault.) However, after having just had a “dental emergency, ” I feel like I owe this team. My accident pretty much left me without my favourite teeth; namely my two upper incisors! Diastema included. (My choice!) Anyway, Dr. Hou got me in ASAP and lucky enough I don’t need crowns or implants. I somehow came out unscathed from nerve and root damage (observed so far) in the X-rays/Examinations. Nobody would know any better unless I told them! I guess until this post… :) (Meh I’m not THAT vain. Don’t care that much - Just happy) Dunbar Dental deserves this praise and review. Thank you so much guys, S
