I have been very pleased with the level of attention, care, and comfort at Dentistry in Waterloo. I switched to their office around 2017-18 and was glad I switched. Dr Yu’s gentle manner, and very pleasant “chair side care” reminds me of my childhood dentist, where I feel very safe, and well attended to. In my twenties I had a crappy dentist and started a touch of anxiety in the chair. I don’t experience that too much anymore since I found this office. Dr Yu listens attentively, is very patient, makes you feel very at ease, and has great attention to detail. The staff are all very pleasant, and caring as well. I fully recommend this dental office to others looking.
The staff are wonderful, always friendly, professional, knowledgeable and efficient with both cleaning visits and requiring work for fillings and Invisalign. My entire family has been attending Dentistry in Waterloo for years. Is you need a great dental team, they are your people!

Dentist
Dr. Holman Yu graduated from the University of Connecticut dental school and practiced in the United States for 5 years before coming back to Canada in 2008 for family. Prior to studying at Connecticut, he attended University of Toronto and received a Bachelor of Science with distinction. Dr. Yu has received multiple awards including the Pierre Fouchard Award – future leader in the community and a community service award from the University of Connecticut. While in dental school he was very involved in extracurricular activities. These included working with the Connecticut Dental Student Association, taking on vice presidency of ASDA (American Student Dental Association), becoming National Consultant on Diversity for the ADA (Amer
ican Dental Association), and the chief editor of the University of Connecticut Dental Journal.
For Dr. Yu, dentistry is based on science, but artistry and heart brings it to life. Since he began practicing dentistry, Dr. Yu has kept up to date on many continuing educational classes, ensuring that his patients receive the most comprehensive and advanced dental care. Certifications in implants, Invisalign, nitrous oxide, and Cerec give patients a wider variety of treatment plans.
Dr. Yu and his wife Inez met in high school and married 8 years later in 2003. They had their first born, Aidan, back in 2006 when they were still living in Connecticut. In 2009, they had their second son, Lucian, in Toronto. Dr. Yu now spends most of his extra time keeping up with his two, very energetic, sons.

Never have I had a dental team so committed to my comfort when I am in the chair. Accustomed as I am to experiencing pain during the most basic procedures (like x-rays) due to the structure of my inner jaw, in the nearly ten years I have been seeing Dr Yu, he and his team have made every effort to ensure I have a pain-free experience. While the dentist and hygienists were good and the office is very clean and quite beautiful, the administration is deplorable. Incorrect billing each and every time I visited the office. I wasted a lot of time waiting for invoices and coming back when mistakes were made or being called at work to talk through errors the staff had made with billing. Disappointed to have to find a new dentist however it is worthwhile to not have the deal with the repeated frustration of clerical errors on each visit. I recommend this practice invest in experienced staff that can serve patients well from an Administrative perspective as well.

Was 5 years overdue on my routine dental care, and I couldn't be happier that I chose Dr Yu's office to pick up where I left off. Very calm atmosphere, a pristine office, and an exceptionally professional staff. My appointments were quick and painless - can't recommend them enough.

By far the best Dentistry Office in Waterloo! I always feel welcomed and answered promptly when coming in for an appointment. I used to have anxiety when coming in, (i don’t think many people LOVE coming to the dentist) But i assure you Dr. Yu and his staff make you feel so comfortable during every appointment. From general cleanings, getting fillings, to having teeth pulled, to just recently finishing Invisalign… i highly recommend going to the Dentistry in Waterloo! You will not be disappointed!
