I want to give a detailed description of the issue and journey my son has experienced for the past 6 years with no solution until working with Dr. Ash. My son began having fainting spells when he was 13. He would stand up and have a blackout, lose vision, hearing, balance, and many times end up on the floor. We went to a pediatrician and began all the necessary tests. He wore a heart monitor, went to Children's hospital for testing, ECG, and blood work. Any heart issue causing the fainting was ruled out and it was determined that he had POTS due to his height (6ft) at age 13. Because of his height, the blood was not able to get up to the head fast enough causing fainting. Nothing to be alarmed about; there would be no permanent damage from fainting on a regular basis. It was something he would just have to live with and hopefully he would eventually grow out of it. So he lived with it, all the while waiting for his body to "grow out of it." Fast forward 6 years (age 19) and nothing has changed, except the blackouts had become more frequent - multiple times a day. I went back to my MD and said this is not normal. If he was going to grow out of it, surely it would be by now. I wanted all the blood work done again, all the heart tests, and a cardiologist. The conclusion - nothing wrong with him. He has low blood pressure. Eat more salt and drink lots of water. I was not satisfied with this answer. Something was not right. It is not normal to have blackouts multiple times a day whenever going from sitting to standing. I began searching online for POTS success stories and found people who had success seeing a functional neurologist. I saw great review from a company in the states but wondered if there was anyone local who did this work. Very fortunate for me, Dr. Ash, along with his team, provided this type of therapy. I felt extremely hopeful. I think the biggest deterrent for most people is the thought of the cost, as they don't know if it will work and only a portion is covered by extended medical. For me, health is everything and worth every penny spent. Our son went for the initial consultation, which was 3 hrs of testing. The tests done are out of the ordinary and quite fascinating. I am amazed at what they were able to pin-point about my son's brain. He began the sessions, twice a week. Results were not immediate, which is why it is important to see the whole process through. You have to be willing to do the number of sessions they suggest. New brain neuropathways do not form over-night. For our son, it has been around 10-15 and we are done now. Now for the good part. My son does not remember the last time he had a blackout. Going from multiple times a day to not remembering the last time is life changing. I have so much respect for Dr. Ash and his team. They care, they are professional, insightful, and informative. Imagine my son's life if I had accepted what the conventional doctors had said - to simply live with it. I am grateful for conventional doctors but they don't know everything. It is impossible for them to be informed about all the therapies available, and quite frankly, if you ask them about this type of therapy, they disregard it. Most conventional doctors are very close minded. What a shame. I highly recommend anyone struggling with any of the ailments they work with to give this a try. Inquire. Have an initial consult.

I am extremely grateful for finding such an extraordinarily kind, compassionate caring group of people Dr. Ash has assembled at his Canadian Brain performance clinic. The difference they have made to my quality and appreciation of life is immeasurable. Over two years ago I couldn't stand, walk straight, comprehend, focus, deal with any noise, motion and my mood and mental health was in absolute shambles due to a concussion. I spent most days in a dark room for over 6 months as everything and everyone was a trigger for migraines and extreme frustration. I had almost given up hope of recovery. From the moment I entered the clinic, Beth was incredible, she filled out my forms as I could not, and is always welcoming and truly cares about you. Claudia and Jasmin always listen and prepare you for your treatment with care and professionalism. Over the course of the last year, Dr. Ash has been helping to heal my concussion issues, he has given me the tools I need to eventually be healthy and active again for the rest of my life. He is an incredible person and spirit as he is a doctor. I truly cannot express the gratitude my family and I have for having him and his team in our life. Finally, if you have any concussion issues, come see Dr. Ash and team as he is a shining light in the dark world of concussions, believe me, there is hope.

We took my mother to see Dr Ash and his team, after her balance became severely compromised and she started having double Vision . We assumed she was having a series of mini strokes but the MRI and CT said she wasn’t. We were at a loss and turned to Dr Ash. After three hours of detailed tests, rehabilitative maneuvers, exercises and minor adjustments . My Mom regained her balance by the end on one session. He left her with a series of at home exercises that she is doing and managing to keep her balance in check. I would never hesitate to fwd anyone to Dr Ash and his team. We are grateful for all they have done for our family. Thank you !
